DID YOU KNOW???
Travertine pavers are calibrated and rectified so that they fit tightly together. You will not need sand in between our pavers when they are dry set. When Travertine pavers are dry-set, you will find that your speed of installation is about 40% faster than concrete or flagstone pavers. Also, the natural, vertical capillary formation in the stone will not allow anything to “permanently” penetrate the stone ie: food or beverage stains, oil, water, etc. The stains will “flush” out after the next rain or when you power wash the travertine. THERE IS NO NEED TO SEAL TRAVERTINE WHEN IT IS DRY-SET!
Travertine Installation Tips
#1 Now, there is NO Excuse NOT to use either Marble, Travertine or Limestone for your kitchen countertops! Check out Dry-Treat’s newest product, Vitremella. This new product bullet-proof’s your countertop against acid etching or staining!
#2 Travertine, Marble or Limestone Tile (I bet you thought you could only use the “thin” tile inside a home?) can be installed outside, in all climates, on a cement slab or wet bed. You install the Travertine tile just like you would install it inside your home. It needs to be grouted and sealed. IMPORTANT: ALWAYS seal travertine, limestone, marble or any natural stone tile or pavers, that are wet-set, BEFORE you grout! When finished grouting, seal the entire installation, grout and all!
#3 We recommend the Dry-Treat product line of cleaners and impregnating sealers whenever you wet-set Travertine, Marble or Limestone. The Dry Treat product line can be used on virtually any natural stone – check out their Product Selector Chart!
Don’t forget to offer the 15 Year Guarantee from Dry Treat!
